Do you feel like you're always in a rush? Do you crave vintage and/or preserving delayed gratification in a time when instant gratification surrounds you? Have you ever thought about the irony of purchasing a phone case with a 35mm film photograph as the design for your 21st century phone? Even if you didn't up until this point, you're thinking about it now! Let's get anachronistic.  

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Originally born in Belgrade, Serbia, Tamara Masa (@timeilluminated on Instagram) is a film photographer currently based in Toronto, Canada. Tamara began her journey as a film photographer when she discovered her late grandfather's 35mm film cameras in September 2020, and ever since then she has been trying to capture moments in modern time through her grandfather's lenses. She has been featured in the Scarborough Arts 2020 'Big Art Book' as well as the Gallery 1265 'Telepathy' exhibition and seeks to tamper with time to find beauty in the madness that this 21st century brings.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH: This photo was taken using a 35mm Agfa Paramat (1963) with Ilford PAN ISO 200 film of the Toronto QEW during peak sunset hour. The emphasis in this photograph is the illumination of light coming from the West side of the busy Gardiner (even during a pandemic). To me, it is imperative to see the beauty within chaos, to seek peace in times of angst. This phone case was created to remind you to illuminate the good times and to indulge in more city views, to seek patience at all times and to stay resilient regardless of the madness that may consume you. Also, here's to avoiding angry people in traffic and carrying the good times in our back pockets!

This is a black-edged TPE case made for ultimate protection against everyday wear and tear. This clear case features a slim form. It’s shock-absorbing, scratch-resistant, and lightweight enough to always keep it looking good.  Since the case was created with the intention of having the most authentic film photograph look and feel, please avoid wiping the back of the phone case with alcohol or other substances to preserve the photograph.

I have always been fascinated with the idea of a 'muse' and the way that people are driven towards inspiration. In this series, I ask my models to be natural and I avoid any makeup or what I call 'applied beauty'. Natural is beautiful and I think admiration of a muse comes from the soul not their external characteristics.
