Subjects In Creativity

'Subjects in Creativity' is a special series. It focuses on the feelings evoked within an individual during passionate artistic occurrences, and what resonates with communities engaging with the photograph. My mission is to capture the most natural and intimate moments for the artist while they do what they love.

“I am what I create”

(Pedro Q, DANCER/GUITARIST).

Art has the power to heal, and it is in this series specifically, that I try to capture during the pandemic, moments where the artist evokes serenity and passion. Art is a component through time that, unless labeled, cannot necessarily be pinpointed to any specific year, and film photography being the type of art form that captures these moments, makes them even more ephemeral and fluid in time.

“Following our will and the wind, we may just go where no one has been.”
(Pedro Q, DANCER/GUITARIST)

I am in search of candid moments of expression, where the artist essentially forgets/ignores that I am in the space. They move and get creative as though nobody is watching.

“We are human BEings, not human DOings. We often forget that.”

(Sylvie S, VISUAL ARTIST)

During unprecedented times when we feel locked down, anxious and desperate for an escape, it is vital to look to the arts and creativity as a unified language to express ourselves; to deceive the box. To unburden ourselves and be resilient when faced with adversity is a gift that the arts, simply having fun, and creativity can bolster.

WITH LOVE & GRATITUDE, TAM
TIME ILLUMINATED
